About Us
José Garcia
José began woodworking at a young age when his father taught him and his brothers a love of and respect for wood as well as the basics of working with different kinds of wood. As he got older, José discovered how that early learning had taken root and he wanted to learn more. He branched out and began visiting local shops and wood-crafters to expand his skills. He now has over 20 years of formal experience as a carpenter creating custom wood furniture. He has worked as head carpenter at custom furniture stores in Colorado, finish carpenter at various construction companies in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla area, and (as his family might tell you) lots of hours spent in his home-based shop where they can usually find him on his days off!
Ryan Brandenburg
Ryan’s love of woodworking began with his grandfather who was a Master Woodcarver. Some of Ryan’s earliest memories are sitting at the foot of his grandfather’s woodcarving bench and listening to classical music while his grandfather carved wood and he learned to do the same with a bar of soap and a butter knife. Though he has spent most of his career doing rough carpentry and finish carpentry work, Ryan received his AA Degree in Contruction Technology from Iowa Lakes Community College in 2011. He enjoys working with and learning from José whose artistry inspires him and he can be found most days carving and working on wood projects at his grandfather’s woodcarving bench.
